GAUSS

Up

GAUSS, together with the GAUSS Applications and third party products, is a very popular and widely used in economics, business and finance. It consists of a powerful array oriented programming language in an interactive analysis environment.

It has a wealth of mathematical functions built in, including LINPACK and EISAPACK routines, factorisations, decompositions, eigenvalues, distributions and equation solving functions. It is exceptionally fast, and can handle very large datasets.

GAUSS can be easily customized, and the function library can be added to; as such it is a powerful scientific programming package for all types of numerical analysis. Twelve application modules provide access to many specialised capabilities, and an entire line of third party applications, written by some of the top experts in their field, offer state-of-the-art analysis solutions.

The latest releases include Constrained Maximum Likelihood, constrained Optimisation, TSM (Time Series and Wavelets for Finance), Mecosa 3 (mean and Covariance Structure Analysis) and SSATS (State-Space Aoki Time Series).

GAUSS Light, with a restricted problem size, is ideal for students.
